FCCLA Founding Facts

 

❖ The earliest home economics club (where FHA and FCCLA originated) reported in Ohio was formed at Greenville High School.

❖ While the actual date of founding for the Future Homemakers of America (now FCCLA) was June 11th, 1945, Ohio’s official charter was granted January 14th, 1946.

❖ The first annual meeting of the Ohio Association of FHA was held on the OSU campus on April 13th, 1946.

❖ The first Ohio State president of The Future Homemakers of America was Carolyn Ruth (Ray) Myers in 1946.
